This is your sign to try Turkish pancakes "Kaşık Dökmesi", which literally translates to “spoon drop” or “spoon spill.” And yep, that’s exactly how you make them: no need to shape, size, or stress: just drop spoonfuls of batter into the pan and let the magic happen. These turned out so soft and fluffy, and I’m officially obsessed. They’re the kind of pancakes that make your breakfast table feel instantly more cozy and welcoming. Bonus: they’re super quick to whip up and impossible to mess up. Perfect for lazy mornings or when you just want something warm and golden with your tea.

Ingredients
2 eggs
1 cup of yogurt
1 Turkish tea glass of sunflower oil (about 125 ml)
1 teaspoon of salt
1½ cups of flour
1 pack of baking powder (about 10–12 g)
How to Make Kaşık Dökmesi
Mix the wet ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, yogurt, sunflower oil, and salt until smooth.
Add the dry:Gradually mix in the flour and baking powder. Stir until you have a thick, smooth batter. It should be scoopable but not runny.
Heat your pan:Lightly oil or butter a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Spoon + cook: Using a regular tablespoon, scoop and drop spoonfuls of batter directly into the pan. No need to shape them; the uneven edges are part of the charm fr. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the bottom is golden, then flip and cook the other side.
Repeat: Keep going until you’ve used up all the batter. I ended up with a little tower of soft, golden pancakes and honestly, it was hard not to eat them straight from the pan.
Notes & Serving Ideas
You can enjoy these plain, with a bit of butter and honey, or dip them into feta and olives if you're doing a full-on Turkish breakfast spread.
They also make a great savoury side if you reduce the salt just a little and serve with soup.
Want to make them slightly sweet? Add a teaspoon of sugar to the batter and top with jam or fruit.
